In 2017, DealPoint Merrill saw opportunity in the vacant Macy’s department store at Richmond Town Square in Richmond Heights, Ohio. The vision, at that time, was simply to redevelop the Macy’s building into a first-class, climate-controlled, indoor storage facility and plans were put in motion to make that happen. As those plans progressed, and as fate would have it, Dealpoint Merrill began to look around at the other properties in proximity to the Macy’s building and imagine what ‘could’ become of an abandoned Sears department store and the vacant land in its immediate vicinity.
After months of planning and study, DealPoint Merrill proposed a new, mixed-use development for the vacant Sears building to the City of Richmond Heights. And, with that, the Belle Oaks Marketplace, a “Thoughtful Living Community” journey begins with Phase I.
